  • Aimie Apigian spoke about trauma healing through the lens of Polyvagal Theory. Among other things, she noted that magnesium deficiency is a known marker of long-term lack of felt safety. 😳

  • Thomas Hübl, German expert in collective trauma healing, highlighted the importance of integrating individual and collective trauma healing if we want to speak of a sustainable human future. 🫂

“Beyond all the insights, the congress also brought me many valuable and pleasant encounters—not only with @karolinatehrani and @helenamaslova ♥️. Thank you to the whole organizing team—I wish you many more editions of this wonderful event! 💫”

MUDr. Karel Fousek

integrative gynecologist

“I experienced the happiest three days of my life—surrounded by safety, understanding, and belonging.”

“How can we let people know they need to experience what you managed to create this weekend?”

“I kept reflecting on everything I had experienced, and it all led me to one realization—being surrounded by so many compassionate people who truly understand trauma created a sense of safety I had never known before. Even though the people around me were strangers, I felt seen and held.”

“That’s what made this event so unique—that’s what made it so healing and powerful. And thanks to that, I truly experienced the happiest three days of my life. Safe, understood, and connected.”

“And that, I believe, is what a happy life is truly about—as I was reminded again and again in the incredible talks. Thank you for being, for following your intuition, and for walking this path despite the obstacles. 💐🙌🪐 I’ll carry tears of gratitude and joy for some time still—but I hope this feeling in my heart stays forever. 💚 Thank you again for your courage in creating this.”

BMU Congress 2025: Three Days of Profound Insight

When science, body, mind, and community come together, something emerges that can’t be described in just one word. The Body Mind Unity Congress 2025 brought three days filled with powerful realizations, deep experiences, and practical tools for healing. The stage welcomed world-renowned experts in neuroscience, psychology, therapy, and spirituality. In the audience were therapists, doctors, parents, and individuals who had simply decided to take responsibility for their health.

Friday

The Day Science Met the Soul

The first day of BMU 2025 was more than just an opening. From the very beginning, it was clear this wouldn’t be an ordinary conference. The theme of body–mind integration resonated from all directions—from spirituality to neuroscience to the depths of psychosomatics.

Dr. Kamila Němečková – Trauma of Suppressed Spirituality
Kamila Němečková opened the day with a powerful topic: What happens when we deny the spiritual dimension in our lives? Her talk offered a new framework for understanding psychological struggles—not as disorders, but as calls for reconnection. It struck a deep chord. Many in the audience admitted they had never heard anyone speak so openly about both spirituality and science.

Dr. Aimie Apigian – The Biology of Trauma
American physician and neurobiologist Aimie Apigian brought a fascinating perspective on trauma as a biological state—not merely a psychological problem. She spoke with energy, personal insight, and strong empathy. She demonstrated how the body, nervous system, and biochemistry can be used to restore balance. Her practical insights into nervous system regulation had an immediate impact.

Alena Nekovářová – The Conscious Human as the Key to Success
After lunch, Alena Nekovářová, CEO of main sponsor AOMU by Yottabe, shared a vision for the future of leadership—one built not on pressure, but on integrity. She connected personal growth with a conscious approach to self and the world. Her message was clear: real success grows from within, from a life lived with direction and meaning.

Dr. Thomas Hübl – The Separation of Mind and Body: How Did It Happen?
One of the day’s most profound moments came from Thomas Hübl. His philosophical and historical dive into how modern culture separated mind from body led to deep reflection on collective trauma. His calm presence, poetic language, and personal authenticity resonated deeply across the audience—from therapists to laypeople.

Dr. Boris Živný & Veronika Živná – Reverse Psychosomatics
A father–daughter duo introduced a groundbreaking perspective: the body can shape the psyche, not just the other way around. They presented a model of the “somato-psychic syndrome,” showing how physiotherapy can influence psychological patterns—both in children and adults. Practical. Validated. Transformational.

Dr. Stephen Porges – How the Nervous System Shapes Our World
Legendary neuroscientist and creator of Polyvagal Theory, Stephen Porges, delivered a lecture that blended science with humanity. He explained how our nervous system filters reality—labeling it as either safe or threatening—and how this filter shapes our relationships, health, and ability to function. For many, hearing Porges felt like coming home.

Šimon Bilina’s Concert – Release, Integration, and Healing Sound
The day concluded with a therapeutic concert by Šimon Bilina. His music filled the space as a soft echo of the day—gentle rhythms, immersive soundscapes, and above all, space for integration. The silence after the final note wasn’t an ending, but a shared moment of breath—in and out.

Saturday

From Oxytocin to Embodiment – Science in Motion

Saturday at BMU 2025 felt like a well-orchestrated symphony. Each session had its own rhythm, depth, and emotion—whether you were a neurologist, therapist, parent, or simply someone wanting to be more “in the body”, there was something for you.

A Morning That Began with Breath
The day started with a meditation led by Kevin Young, bringing calm, gentleness, and unexpected intensity. The silence in Hall A2+A3 was so thick you could cut it with a knife—and within that silence, an inner readiness for what was to come quietly took shape.

A Masterclass That United Science and Tenderness
The highlight of the morning was undoubtedly the masterclass with Stephen Porges, Sue Carter, and their son Seth Porges. They spoke about love—scientifically, yet humanely. How our nervous system needs safety and connection just as much as it needs oxygen. This talk proved that science doesn’t have to be cold. It can be deeply tender.

Aromapsychology That Made Sense
After a short break, a workshop by AOMU by Yottabe followed—Kateřina Melenová and MUDr. Vratislav Kraus wove together scent, the nervous system, and healing into an elegant arc. They showed that even aroma can be a tool for profound psychological transformation—if prepared and used correctly.

From Neuroscience to Dance Therapy
Dr. Miroslav Světlák then introduced a neurodevelopmental map of how our sense of “self” forms—and why we often feel so foreign in our own bodies. At the same time, in a parallel session, Dorothe Trassl demonstrated that movement is not just physical—it’s also a gateway to psychological freedom. Sometimes, we need to move to let go.

Compassion, Relationships, and Healing
The afternoon offered a powerful lineup for both professionals and parents. Dr. Aisling Quiery and Kevin Young spoke with humor and empathy about how compassion can transform even a frustrated doctor or therapist—and why it should be cultivated as a habit, not left to chance.
Simultaneously, Charlotte Luzius brought a tender yet profound approach to the child-parent relationship. The audience lingered even after her talk ended—as if not wanting to leave the safe space she had created.

An Evening of Science and the Body
The evening belonged to two remarkable women.
Dr. Sue Carter offered a fascinating exploration of oxytocin—the hormone behind love, trust, and wellness. Her presentation was not only scientific, but also deeply human.
At the same time, Tereza Winklerová led a workshop on embodiment—the lost art of inhabiting one’s own body. Her work helped many participants “land” again—and remember that the greatest wisdom often resides right there.

Sunday

When We Slow Down, We Begin to Truly Hear

The third day of BMU 2025 didn’t open with fanfare—but with breath. Sunday wasn’t about fast talk, but about precision. You could feel that the participants were no longer just listeners. After two intense days, they had become co-creators in a greater symphony of awareness, nervous system regulation, and human healing.

The Morning Begins Within
The day began with another silent ritual—meditation with Kevin Young. The space filled with a silence that wasn’t empty—it was charged with preparation for deeper awareness of self and others.

Dr. Aimie Apigian – A Guide to Accelerated Healing
In a masterclass that was part of the main program, Dr. Aimie Apigian dove into a theme that resonated with everyone—how to accelerate the healing process of body and mind when we understand the biology of trauma. She spoke with precision and sensitivity. Participants walked away with concrete tools and a new perspective on what it truly means to “heal in safety.”

TRE Workshop with Martina Vančurová
Hall C filled up again—early registration had proven essential. TRE (Tension & Trauma Release Exercises) is becoming a silent hit of the congress. Movement that leads to deep release without the need for many words seems more and more powerful in an overstimulated world.

Gregor Žvelc – Mindfulness That Heals
After lunch, Dr. Gregor Žvelc offered a hybrid of lecture and workshop that earned appreciation from both therapists and laypeople. He spoke about kind attention as a tool for real transformation—not as a technique, not as a formula, but as a genuine presence that can be trained like a muscle.

Dr. Helena Máslová – The Body and Soul Are Never Wounded Separately
Her lecture was both raw and calming. She described how physical injuries manifest in the psyche—and vice versa. She offered clear examples and a deeper connection between medicine, psychotherapy, and the existential perspective on being human.

Honza & Markéta – The (Un)seen Addictions
The closing session belonged to a dynamic duo—Honza Fiala and Markéta Černoušková, founder of BMU. They combined a lecture with a practical workshop on the topic of addiction—not only the obvious ones, but the subtle and hidden. They created a space where people could speak without shame. A space where healing was not performance—but a return to self.

AOMU by Yottabe

Main Partner Bringing the Scent of Healing

At BMU 2025, the general partner AOMU by Yottabe ensured that participants could experience aromapsychology firsthand. In their fragrant zone, visitors could sample various inhalation sticks—such as Energy, Sleep, or Happy—and test their effects. Each guest also received a free sample stick, offering a personal experience with AOMU’s products.

This activation was not only a pleasant enhancement of the program, but also a demonstration of how sensory perception can be connected with a scientific approach to mental well-being. In doing so, AOMU presented its innovative take on aromatherapy and offered participants a chance to explore new pathways to relaxation and inner harmony.

Before We Release the Recordings from the Congress…

Before we publish the recordings from this year’s congress, we invite you to watch an exclusive webinar with Dr. Stephen Porges and Dr. Boris Živný.

This meeting of two leading figures in neuroscience and clinical practice offers a unique perspective on how the state of the body and nervous system influences the mind, behavior, and healing process.
Dr. Porges, author of the Polyvagal Theory, and Dr. Živný, a Czech neurosurgeon and pioneer of the somato-psychic approach, open up new horizons in our understanding of the connection between body and mind.
