Body Mind Unity Team
Markéta Černoušková
Markéta is the founder of the Body Mind Unity initiative, which reflects her vision: to encourage the emerging wave of natural and organic healing of individuals and society as a whole from healthy foundations, which every country and culture has. She envisions Czechia becoming an authentic healing heart of Europe.
Markéta is deeply influenced by Dr. Gabor Maté, whose deep insight, compassion, and understanding of the challenges human beings face in today’s ‘toxic’ culture speak to her profoundly and aided her own healing and self-acceptance. She has had the honor of welcoming Gabor Maté to Prague twice.
As a therapist, she works mainly with his Compassionate Inquiry, a very effective therapeutic approach that quickly uncovers the roots of problems and leads to transformation.
Her previous work as a journalist, election observer, and analyst allowed her to explore different cultures and realize how ubiquitous trauma – individual and collective – is.
MUDr. Alžběta Buriánová
Medical doctor specializing in the interconnection of medicine, trauma healing and chronic diseases, co-organizer of the BMU 2025 Congress.
MUDr. Alžběta Buriánová is a physician originally certified in gastroenterology who, after a personal experience with burnout syndrome, began to delve deeper into the connection between medicine, trauma and its impact on the body. Fascinated by the relationship between prolonged stress, nervous system overwhelm and chronic illness, she has studied psychoneuroendocrinoimmunology, functional medicine, polyvagal theory and the IFS psychotherapeutic approach.
She is part of The Biology of Trauma training under the guidance of Dr. Aimie Apigian, who will be speaking at the Body Mind Unity 2025 Congress. It is through her professional perspective and personal experience that Alžběta brings a unique perspective to the BMU organization in bridging traditional medicine with modern approaches to working with the body and mind.
She believes that a deeper understanding of trauma and its impact on health is the key to more effective treatment of chronic disease and a holistic approach to patients. At the BMU 2025 Congress, she is helping to bring these ideas to a wider audience, connecting professionals across medical and therapeutic disciplines.
