WEBINAR RECORDING

We invite you to a unique webinar with world neuroscience legend Dr. Stephen Porges, author of the polyvagal theory, and Czech neurosurgeon MUDr. Boris Zivny, who applies its principles in practice in the treatment of hundreds of pediatric patients.

The main star of the Body Mind Unity congress, Dr. Stephen Porges, will speak live about what is the essence of his polyvagal theory and how it relates to our everyday experience, whether we know it or not. So why is it so important that we are able to regulate our nervous system and therefore our emotions, experiences and perceptions of ourselves and the world.

Help for children with developmental disorders

At the same time, Dr. Boris Živný, a brilliant Czech pediatric neurologist and neurosurgeon who has discovered how physical developmental defects can cause psychological problems and how to treat them with physiotherapy, based on the polyvagal theory. His clinical practice is consistent with the teachings of Stephen Porges and clearly confirms the validity of the polyvagal theory.

Together, they reveal how our nervous system affects emotions, behavior, relationships and health – and how this can be worked with specifically. This evening will offer a fusion of scientific knowledge and clinical practice that will enable you to understand the body and mind on a whole new level.

Dr. Stephen Porges

Stephen Porges

Stephen Porges is an internationally renowned neuroscientist and professor of psychiatry whose work has fundamentally changed the way we view the workings of the human nervous system. He is the author of the polyvagal theory, which explains how the state of our autonomic nervous system affects what we feel, how we think, react and relate.

He is Professor Emeritus at the University of Illinois, has held appointments at Indiana University and the University of North Carolina, and has authored hundreds of scientific studies and publications. Thanks to his research, we now know that feeling safe is not just psychological, but a deeply biological state that affects our ability to heal, establish closeness, and feel trust.

Porges shows that the regulation of the nervous system is key to managing stress, trauma, and anxiety, but also to how we perceive the world around us in general – as a place of threat or safety.

His approach inspires professionals across disciplines – from therapists to physicians to educators to researchers. And now you have a unique opportunity to experience his interpretation of polyvagal theory live – in a live online webinar.

Dr. Boris Živný

Boris Živný

Dr. Boris Živný is one of the leading experts in the field of neurosurgery and developmental medicine. For more than 30 years he has been involved in the diagnosis, treatment and research of the brain, especially in the field of neurodevelopmental disorders, brain plasticity and functional neurosurgery.

Together with his daughter Veronika, he successfully treats patients with the so-called Somato-psychiatric syndrome (SPS), a disorder in which a primary physical pathology causes psychological difficulties. They have already treated 450 cases of pediatric patients in which properly targeted physical therapy has been shown to lead not only to an improvement in physical condition, but also to a reduction in anxiety, behavioral or emotional difficulties.

It is this work that confirms a fundamental idea of Dr Stephen Porges’ polyvagal theory: that the nervous system plays a key role in our perception of the world, relationships and mental health.

Boris Živný heads the NeuroCentrum Clinic, where he coordinates a multidisciplinary team of experts and develops new approaches to the treatment of nervous system disorders. He is the author of the False Proprioceptive Information Therapy (FPIT) method and the concept of Somato-Psychic Autonomic Dysregulation (SPAD). He is a member of international professional societies such as the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and the American Academy for Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine.
